Our client is an international leading producer of coated fine paper widely used in books, brochures, magazines, catalogues and many other print applications and has more than 16,000 employees worldwide with manufacturing operations on four continents.

Position description

Today they’re looking for a Category Manager Capex for their Central Procurement Technical goods/Energy department in Brussels, Belgium.  

In this role you will report to the Director Procurement Technical Goods/Energy.

You will manage the procurement of CAPEX, Technical goods (e.g MRO (mechanical & electrical) OEM spare parts) and Services (Contractor, Consultant), IT Hardware & Software / Services under responsibility of Central Purchasing for 10 mills of SFPE to ensure appropriate focus on procurement related activities to include cost-savings and alignment with corporate policy and process. You will develop and implement a procurement strategy for the assigned categories to ensure a secure and competitive supply base.

You will deal a budget of 200m€ (total spend 650m€) and 1 direct report.

Your profile

§         You have a Master’s degree in Business or equivalent field of study; certification in purchasing or in a commercial field is an asset

§         You have at least 6-8 Procurement, Technical or Supply Chain Management experience preferably in the process industry in field of technical goods.

§         Experience in strategic sourcing and e – procurement is an asset.

§         You have project management experience demonstrating on-time delivery and achievement of objectives.

§         You speak and write fluently English. Good command of German is a necessity.  Knowledge of Dutch and/or Finnish is an asset.

§         You have strong analytical skills and technical market analysis.

§         You have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.

§         You have a good understanding of international and local contractor’s environment.

§         You have a technical understanding and economic knowledge of these categories

§         You have knowledge of “best- in class” processes and systems with experience in e-enabled procurement tools (SAP ERP systems, common supplier portals).

§         You are self-motivated/self-starter, have a proactive personality and a ‘can-do’ attitude

§         You have successfully implemented innovative processes and you are committed to continuous improvement

§         You are a team player and you have an ability to work under time constraints

§         You are IT literate: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and excellent database experience. 

§         You have a great business awareness and you are a strategic thinker

§         You have outstanding verbal and written communication skills

§         You are able to travel regularly within Europe including nights away (approx. 30% of your time)
